Dear Mrs Davids,
(Paragraphe 1= Félicitations)
I feel truly honoured to have this opportunity to write to you!
I would like to congratulate you on your historical victory: you are the first Native American woman in the House! What a wonderful moment in the history of our country!
I think your values are commendable when you say, for example, that you want not only to represent the people who voted for you but also those who didn’t. I feel you will make a difference if you talk to all parties to get things done, as you said.
(Paragraphe 2&3= tes espoirs pour le futur)
As one of the first two Native American women to be elected in Congress, I hope you will focus on improving the lives of the Native American minorities in Kansas and in the US. I hope that you will be able to work with Debra Haaland to fight for Native American women. They should have equal chances to get high powered jobs and they should not suffer any form of discrimination. I would like you to extend your work to men and women of all communities in the country in order to reach true equality between everyone.
Being the first openly gay woman in Congress, I would like you to improve Gays’ Rights in Kansas and in the whole country. I hope you will try and influence a number of Congressmen and women to organise more debates on equality for gay people in everyday life, on a professional level as well as in society in general. I would like you to approach the subject in schools so that we can eradicate bullying and develop a better understanding of people’s differences.
(Conclusion= résumé des espoirs pour le futur avec ouverture)
My dream is to see you become a role model in schools, showing young people that everything is possible regardless of their background, race, beliefs, sexual orientation or social class. Like Barack Obama, you can embody this wonderful hope of “anything is possible”, “the New American Dream” for future generations.
Kind Regards,
